Softball Recap: Orange Beach Makos vs. White Plains Wildcats
Orange Beach put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They had just enough and edged the White Plains Wildcats out 9-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Orange Beach also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.
Katie King and Ava Hodo did most of the damage at the plate: King got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run and two runs, while Hodo went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Falyn Beebe was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
On White Plains' side, Callie Richardson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. Another player making a difference was Sara Kate Adams, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Even though they lost, White Plains was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with five doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orange Beach only hit two.
