Softball Recap: Bear River Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Bear River had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Timpanogos Timberwolves on Friday as they made off with a 15-4 victory. Considering the Bears have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brielle Gardiner was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Gardiner was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Marley Tisdol was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Molly Canfield, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.

Bear River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timpanogos only posted an OBP of .400.

The win was the fourth in a row for Bear River, bringing their record up to 23-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Timpanogos, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-11.

Coming up, Bear River will face off against Dixie at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flyers have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. Timpanogos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
