Football Recap: Poplarville Falls to West Harrison in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Poplarville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 34-18 to the West Harrison Hurricanes.

When it comes to explaining why Poplarville lost, don't look at Tylan Keys. Despite the final result, he rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns. Keys' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 130 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Jordan Stapleton was a one-man wrecking crew For West Harrison. as he rushed for 180 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries, and also picked up 83 receiving yards and one score.

Poplarville will head out on the road to square off against Stone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Harrison, they will host St. Martin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Hurricanes' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
