Volleyball Recap: Howells-Dodge Falls Despite Big Games from Brynn Throener and Mckenzie Sindelar

Howells-Dodge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-11.

Howells-Dodge's loss came despite strong showings from McKenzie Sindelar and Brynn Throener. Sindelar had ten digs and two assists, while Throener had five digs. Sindelar is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Howells-Dodge's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-3.

Coming up, Howells-Dodge will face off against Wakefield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Humphrey-Lindsay on the 9th.
