Winter Haven added to the longest winning streak in 6A District 11 this week by beating Ida Baker, 38-35. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Winter Haven and the Bulldogs played the closest game in the league this week, with Winter Haven eventually emerging with a 38-35 victory.
Lake Gibson's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trey Congdon threw for 154 and 2 touchdowns and Sammie Jackson had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Thomas Boles chipped in 78 yards. Shaquan Perkins helped Lake Gibson's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 34 yards.
Boles was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 78 yards as the Braves fell to South Fort Myers. Teammate Congdon added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.
Lake Gibson's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Braves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Congdon has thrown for 1,917 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Jeremy Crissey has 26 catches for 520 yards.
Charles Tate's team led 6A District 11 in scoring this week by notching 38 points on Ida Baker.
