Gilmer County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the St. Joseph Central Irish on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Titans, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Gilmer County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-12, 25-16, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, St. Joseph Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooklyn Anderson had 15 digs. Bella Smith also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Gilmer County's victory bumped their record up to 31-8-1. As for St. Joseph Central, their loss dropped their record down to 26-9.
