Softball Recap: Immokalee's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Immokalee dropped their record down to 10-15 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 8-5 to the Mariner Tritons. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tritons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Remey Rodriguez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

As for Mariner, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.

On Mariner's side, Gabi Winters made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Winters has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mia Standard was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Skylar Kulwicki also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

As of now, neither Immokalee nor Mariner have any future games scheduled.
