Basketball Recap: Dinuba Takes a Loss

Dinuba played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Tulare Western Mustangs, falling 82-59. The Emperors were down 66-42 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Malachi Ficher continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tulare Western, going 13 of 18 on his way to 38 points and seven rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ficher has scored at least a third of Tulare Western's points. Another player making a difference was Leonardo Lemus, who posted 13 points and six boards.

Dinuba has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Tulare Western, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.

Dinuba is taking a road trip to challenge Lemoore at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Lemoore is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season. As for Tulare Western, they will be playing at home against Hanford at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Tulare Western also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 69.8 points per game.
