Baseball Recap: Kettle Run Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Eight must be Kettle Run's lucky number: they beat Fauquier with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Cougars beat the Falcons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-2. Considering the Cougars have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kettle Run is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Fauquier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Kettle Run is set to face off against their familiar foe Brentsville District at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 2.6, the Tigers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Fauquier will take on rival Manassas Park at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
