Volleyball Recap: Calvary Christian Takes a Loss

Calvary Christian lost against Bishop Brossart back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 25-16 in the first set.

Calvary Christian took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 15-10.

This is the second loss in a row for Calvary Christian and nudges their season record down to 18-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 18-10 Scott (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.1% over those games). As for Bishop Brossart, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

Calvary Christian will challenge Newport at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Brossart, they will square off against Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
