Baseball Recap: Owensville Victorious

Owensville came out on top against New Haven on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Dutchmen walked away with an 8-4 win over the Shamrocks. The Dutchmen haven't had any issues with the Shamrocks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Chase Weirich was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Owensville is 2-1 when Weirich posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jansen Loeb, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

The win got Owensville back to even at 8-8. As for New Haven, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owensville will venture away from home to face off against Linn at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Haven, they will head out to take on Bourbon at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
