Jacksonville found their leader in sophomore Jeremiah Jackson, who rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Jackson has become a key player for the Crimsons: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise. Easton Ackerman helped out on the ground, rushing for 86 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Jacksonville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 441 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Jacksonville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as DaShawn Armstrong, Terrion Jackson, and Eli Musamba picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Cahokia got the win against Centralia on Saturday by a conclusive 44-22. The victory continues a trend for the Comanches in their matchups with the Orphans: they've now won four in a row.
Jacksonville better keep an eye on Machai Henderson. He was instrumental in Cahokia's win, rushing for 139 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Henderson a new career-high.
Cahokia's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Malik Mazyun, Kourmarion McNeil, and Zehki McCuller, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Centralia's side was Mazyun, who picked up a sack, made 12 total tackles, and defended one pass.
Jacksonville's record now sits at 6-4. As for Cahokia, their record is now 8-2.
