Basketball Game Preview: Ribault Trojans vs. Raines Vikings

The Ribault Trojans will challenge the Raines Vikings on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ribault is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 66-15 victory over Stanton. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Raines). They blew past Yulee 72-46 on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their two-point performance the contest before.

Raines' win came from a few key players Ribault will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Orianna Freeman, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Darreniza Tobler, who scored 12 points and three steals.

Ribault is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Raines, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.

Everything came up roses for Ribault against Raines in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ribault since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
