Football Game Preview: Covington vs. James River

On Thursday Covington take on James River at Covington High School at 6:00 PM. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Covington have to be feeling especially confident with the MaxPreps state rankings on their side for this one.

Covington had a rough outing against Glenvar two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Covington walked away with a 27-20 win. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (21) and coasted on those for the win.

Meanwhile, James River were able to grind out a solid victory over McCluer last week, winning 28-14.

Their wins bumped James River to 4-0 and Covington to 2-2. While both teams are coming in off of wins, only one will triumph this week. Who will it be ? Check back in with MaxPreps after the game is over for details.
