Tuscaloosa Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the Central Falcons. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lillian Johnson made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anna Claire Johnson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Caroline Lucas was another key player, getting no hits from her two at bats.

Tuscaloosa Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Tuscaloosa Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.4 runs over those games. As for Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Tuscaloosa Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lamar County at 4:30 p.m. on April 3rd. As for Central, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Holt at 5:00 p.m.
