Basketball Recap: Declan Brennan Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Henry-Senachwine

Leland's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Henry-Senachwine Mallards 54-52. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 50-26 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Declan Brennan, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Brennan continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Nelson, who on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and four blocks.

Leland's victory bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Henry-Senachwine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season.

Leland has already played their next match, a 63-39 defeat against Parkview Christian Academy on the 21st. As for Henry-Senachwine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-39 loss against Putnam County on the 18th.
