Football Game Preview: Edgewater Eagles vs. Winter Springs Bears + How To Watch

The Edgewater Eagles will face off against the Winter Springs Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Edgewater will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, Edgewater earned a 28-21 victory over Winter Park.

Damian Moore was his usual excellent self, rushing for 254 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 61 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Edgewater was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 271 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Winter Springs' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a 49-20 loss at the hands of Melbourne.

Although Winter Springs took the loss, they still got scores from Tristen Raines and Jordan Woods.

Winter Springs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Julian Johnson and Jaylen Lowman. Lowman has been hot, having posted at least one interception the last six times he's played. Winter Springs got some further help from Jorden Federick: he made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Edgewater's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Winter Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Edgewater against Winter Springs in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
