Basketball Game Preview: De Kalb Bears vs. Atlanta Rabbits

De Kalb hasn't had much luck against Atlanta recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Rabbits at 8:00 p.m. De Kalb has given up an average of 53.1 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

De Kalb is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2025 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 62-35 loss at the hands of Liberty-Eylau. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1130th, while the Leopards are ranked 215th).

Redwater typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Atlanta proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 victory over the Dragons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rabbits.

Atlanta's record now sits at 7-9. As for De Kalb, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

De Kalb took a serious blow against Atlanta when the teams last played back in February of 2025, falling 81-50. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
