Basketball Game Preview: Oakridge Owls vs. The Awty International Rams

Having just played yesterday, the Oakridge Owls will jump right back in to play The Awty International Rams at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakridge has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 20.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Oakridge duked it out with Episcopal School of Dallas on Thursday. Oakridge was beaten by Episcopal School of Dallas 66-37. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1167th, while the Eagles are ranked 379th).

Meanwhile, The Awty International ended up a good deal behind Fort Worth Country Day on Thursday and lost 60-44.

Oakridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for The Awty International, they dropped their record down to 17-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Oakridge took their win against The Awty International in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 74-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
