Basketball Recap: Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Takes a Loss

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle lost against Upsala back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder had to suffer through an 82-35 loss at the hands of the Upsala Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Cardinals are ranked 176th).

It was another big night for Jack Primus, who almost dropped a double-double with 32 points and nine steals for Upsala. The game was Primus' seventh in a row with at least 18 points. Eric Landowski was another key player, going 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and seven boards.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22. As for Upsala, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle will host Pillager at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Upsala, they will welcome Osakis at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
