Football Game Preview: Buchholz Bobcats vs. Lake Weir Hurricanes

The Buchholz Bobcats will venture away from home to take on the Lake Weir Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Weir took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Buchholz, who comes in off a win.

Buchholz's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They breezed past St. John Lutheran to the tune of 40-0. The Bobcats pushed the score to 27-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Saints had little chance of recovering from.

Buchholz didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Taylor Booth led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Lake Weir's offense. They fell 12-0 to Vanguard on Thursday.

The win made it two in a row for Buchholz and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 0.0 points over those games. As for Lake Weir, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything came up roses for Buchholz against Lake Weir in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 34-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buchholz since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
