Basketball Recap: Johnson Takes a Loss

Johnson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Steele Knights 61-27. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Knights are ranked 40th).

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Steele, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Johnson will take on San Marcos in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Marcos will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Johnson surely won't give up without a fight. Steele and Clemens will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Steele's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Clemens has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
