Recap: Greene County Tigers vs. Tuscaloosa Academy Knights
The Greene County Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 63-52 to Tuscaloosa Academy. While losing is never fun, Greene County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while Tuscaloosa Academy is ranked 165th).
Despite the defeat, Greene County had strong showings from Lester Scott, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Egan Daley, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Jessie Pelt, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Greene County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Greene County will be playing at home against Sipsey Valley at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tuscaloosa Academy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Gordo at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th.
