Maranatha Christian Academy fought the good fight in their overtime game against Northland Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Northland Christian by a score of 80-77. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Maranatha Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Daniel Dean, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards. The contest was his third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Shrader, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Maranatha Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-12. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Northland Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-11 record this season.

Maranatha Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-45 defeat against Bishop Ward on the 11th. As for Northland Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 74-43 loss against Faith Christian Academy on the 10th.
