Baseball Recap: Desert Mirage Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Desert Mirage, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the San Jacinto Leadership Academy Lions 3-2.

Brian Benavides was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Benavides wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Christian Cisneros-Morales, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

The win got Desert Mirage back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Desert Mirage will square off against Coachella Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Jacinto Leadership Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Public Safety Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
