Basketball Game Preview: Western Wayne Wildcats vs. Lakeland Chiefs

The Western Wayne Wildcats will take on the Lakeland Chiefs at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Western Wayne has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 4.

Last Tuesday, Western Wayne had to suffer through a 87-41 loss at the hands of Old Forge. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 636th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 110th).

Meanwhile, Lakeland played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 71-42 loss at the hands of Holy Cross. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Western Wayne, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Western Wayne was taken down by Lakeland 72-41 in their previous meeting back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Western Wayne was down 41-19.
