Baseball Recap: Pickerington Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Logan on Monday, Pickerington Central came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 4-1 to the Canal Winchester Indians on Wednesday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 10-6.

Cael Kogge was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Pickerington Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dillon Powers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Pickerington Central's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Canal Winchester, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pickerington Central will take on rival Lancaster at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.1, the Golden Gales 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Canal Winchester is set to square off against their familiar foe Newark at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
