Volleyball Recap: Sanger West Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Sanger West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Golden West Trailblazers on Tuesday.

Sanger West had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-19.

Sanger West got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddilynn Villarreal Puga out in front who had 16 assists and four digs. That's the most assists Villarreal Puga has posted over her last 15 matches. Tho'Nizya Harris also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Sanger West was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. They are a perfect 8-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Sanger West pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Golden West, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Sanger West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Hanford on the 11th. Golden West has also already played their next game (against Tulare Union), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
