Basketball Recap: Hebbronville Comes Up Short

Hebbronville lost against Falfurrias back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hebbronville Longhorns took a blow against the Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys, falling 60-28. The Longhorns were down 47-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Quisto Sanchez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten boards for Falfurrias. What's more, Sanchez also racked up seven assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Gabriel Cantu was another key player, going 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points.

Hebbronville has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-20 record this season. As for Falfurrias, their victory bumped their record up to 18-12.

Hebbronville will square off against San Diego at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. San Diego knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Hebbronville likes a good challenge. As for Falfurrias, they will face off against Banquete at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Falfurrias is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.
