Baseball Recap: St. Francis De Sales Beats Springfield for Their Third Straight Win

St. Francis de Sales barely beat Springfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights never let the Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Springfield's batters probably weren't too happy with Tommy Woycik, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up a single walk). Woycik has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gabe Lisowski, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Drew Tucker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

St. Francis de Sales always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was St. Francis de Sales' third in a row) raised their record to 18-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Springfield, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.
