Baseball Game Preview: Sunnyside Grizzlies vs. Davis Pirates

For the second straight game, Sunnyside will face off against Davis. The Grizzlies will head out to square off against the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with ten losses in a row, Sunnyside turned things around against Davis on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 10-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Grizzlies considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Jorge Moreno looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sunnyside is 2-1 when Moreno allows one or fewer earned runs, but 0-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trey Castro, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Cristian Casas also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Davis is on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9. As for Sunnyside, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-10.
