Eastern scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They were dealt a 79-47 loss at the hands of the Ritchie County Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 617th in Ohio, while the Rebels are ranked 24th in West Virginia).

Ritchie County found their leader in sophomore Elsa Law, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 13 assists, and 11 steals. Law is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsie Jeffrey, who went 7 for 9 on her way to 19 points.

Eastern is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11. As for Ritchie County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Eastern has already played their next game (against Trimble), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ritchie County will venture away from home to square off against Tyler at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ritchie County is facing Tyler at the right time seeing as Tyler is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
