Baseball Recap: Turkeyfoot Valley Area Comes Up Short

Berlin Brothersvalley hit Turkeyfoot Valley Area with a five-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams lost 11-3 to the Mountaineers. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Mountaineers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Zack Ryan put in work no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Ryan was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Ryan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Corban Stimmel, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their record now sits at 6-10.

Berlin Brothersvalley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against Tussey Mountain on the 14th. Hopefully Turkeyfoot Valley Area paid attention to the Mountaineers' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Mountaineers at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
