Volleyball Recap: Colonie Central Comes Up Short

If Colonie Central was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Varsity Opponent on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolfpack took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guilderland Flying Dutchmen on Monday. The Wolfpack have struggled against the Flying Dutchmen recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Colonie Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-23.

Guilderland can attribute much of their success to Hailey Elario, who had 12 digs and two assists.

Colonie Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Guilderland, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Guilderland beat Colonie Central by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.
