Baseball Game Preview: Logansport Berries vs. Northridge Raiders

The Logansport Berries will venture away from home to face off against the Northridge Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Logansport has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Northridge will arrive with three straight wins.

Oak Hill hit Logansport with a nine-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Berries fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 13-12.

Bryson Herr was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Rogers, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Northridge narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Plymouth 4-2. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by exactly two runs.

Northridge's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Preston Ryan, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Northridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Northridge pushed their record up to 15-9 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.88 runs across that stretch. As for Logansport, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
