Basketball Game Preview: Westside Christian Eagles vs. Horizon Christian Hawks

Westside Christian and Horizon Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Westside Christian Eagles duke it out with the Horizon Christian Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Westside Christian, who comes in off a win.

If Westside Christian beats Horizon Christian with 30 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Westside Christian slipped by Portland Adventist Academy 30-29 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one point.

Meanwhile, Horizon Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 46-39 to Portland Adventist Academy. One positive for the Hawks, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Horizon Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Westside Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-10 record this season.

Westside Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Horizon Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-50 win. Will Westside Christian repeat their success, or does Horizon Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
