Baseball Game Preview: Lockport Porters vs. Naperville Central Redhawks

The Lockport Porters will square off against the Naperville Central Redhawks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Lockport earned a 7-3 victory over Sandburg. The win continues a trend for the Porters in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Anthony Farina tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Nagle, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Kozak, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lockport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Naperville Central entered their tilt with Kaneland last Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Knights.

Lockport's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Naperville Central, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
