Basketball Game Preview: Hillsborough Raiders vs. Pennington Red Hawks

The Hillsborough Raiders will face off against the Pennington Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hillsborough has eight straight victories, Pennington has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Hillsborough is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Jersey's top teams: The Pingry School, who was ranked ninth at the time (Hillsborough was ranked 20th). Everything went Hillsborough's way against The Pingry School on Saturday as Hillsborough made off with a 71-51 win. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Pennington came up short against Mercersburg Academy on Friday and fell 56-45.

Pennington's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Hillsborough, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Hillsborough was able to grind out a solid win over Pennington when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 51-41. Does Hillsborough have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pennington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
