Basketball Recap: Crawford County Takes a Loss

Crawford County's last matchup with Corydon Central could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Crawford County Wolfpack were dealt a 61-26 defeat at the hands of the Corydon Central Panthers. The Wolfpack haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Corydon Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josie Vaughn out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Vaughn has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Alyssa Murphy was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 15 points and five steals.

Crawford County's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Corydon Central, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Crawford County will face off against Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Corydon Central, they will take on Charlestown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
