Basketball Recap: Goochland Comes Up Short

Goochland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 33-9 to the Monticello Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-11 back in December of 2024.

Goochland's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Monticello, they moved to 3-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goochland will square off against Orange County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monticello, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against East Rockingham at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Rockingham will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Monticello surely won't give up without a fight.
