DeKalb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Holt Knights. On the bright side, the 52- point effort marked the Tigers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Although DeKalb took the loss, they still got scores from Kyle Funk and Cooper Wachtel.

South Holt was led to victory by Tayte Prussman and Coltyn Fansher. Prussman rushed for 162 yards and five scores on only 12 carries, while Fansher rushed for 57 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Prussman didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made nine total tackles (1.0 for loss).

DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for South Holt, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

DeKalb didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 70-6 defeat against Rock Port on the 3rd. As for South Holt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 64-30 victory against Stewartsville on the 3rd.
