Preview: Fairborn Skyhawks vs. Troy Trojans

Fairborn is 1-9 against Troy since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Fairborn Skyhawks will head out on the road to challenge the Troy Trojans at 11:45 a.m. Fairborn is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Last Monday, Fairborn came up short against West Carrollton and fell 40-29. While losing is never fun, Fairborn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 716th, while West Carrollton is ranked 280th).

Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Troy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-33 loss to West Carrollton on Saturday. Troy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Troy had strong showings from Kiyah Baker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, and Jayda Dillow, who scored ten points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dillow has scored all season.

Fairborn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Troy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Fairborn lost to Troy on the road by a decisive 36-17 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Fairborn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
