Merrillville not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4, 2024 (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against the Washington Township Senators as they made off with a 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Senators on Saturday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

One reason for the win was Merrillville's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-22, 25-16.

Jada Clark paced Merrillville's offense, picking up nine kills. Clark got some help from Lucy McCollum and her 24 assists. McCollum was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Merrillville now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Washington Township, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

Coming up, Merrillville will head out on the road to take on Griffith at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington Township, they will take on South Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
