Softball Recap: Momence Momence Athletics vs. St. Anne Cardinals
Momence extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-15 in the process. They came up short against the St. Anne Cardinals, falling 12-2. The Momence Athletics were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Sydnee Vanswol made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
As for St. Anne, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On St. Anne's side, Tessa DeYoung was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits.
