Football Recap: Palmetto Christian Academy vs. Holly Hill Academy Raiders
Palmetto Christian Academy had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it five. They were beaten by the Holly Hill Academy Raiders 56-24. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Holly Hill Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-22 back in August.
Despite the loss, Palmetto Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Eli Beville, who rushed for 213 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Beville's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
As for Holly Hill Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 22 points thus far.
A big part of Holly Hill Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Parker Kizer and his top target Jake Kirven. Kizer rushed for 260 yards and four scores while picking up 11.3 yards per carry while Kirven rushed for 70 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Kizer is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 220 every time he's taken the field this season. Jaxon Jones made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Looking ahead, Palmetto Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson Davis Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant wideouts against one another: Beville and Reece Still. As for Holly Hill Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against King's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
