Volleyball Recap: Sequoyah Chiefs vs. Maryville Christian Eagles

Sequoyah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Maryville Christian Eagles. The Chiefs were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

While Sequoyah was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22.

Claire Hassenzahl had an outrageously good game for Maryville Christian as she had nine digs, six aces, and five kills. Alivia Sunderland was another key player, getting eight assists and six digs.

Sequoyah's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Maryville Christian, the win was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.
