Football Recap: Grain Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

With a playoff win on the line, Grain Valley rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Raytown Bluejays with a sharp 49-28 win. Considering the Eagles have won eight games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Despite the loss, Raytown still got an impressive performance from Roger Haney, who picked up 94 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The Bluejays also got help from Traice Collier, who showed off his sure hands for 96 receiving yards.

The victory (which was Grain Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Raytown, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Grain Valley will face off against Platte County at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The Pirates' defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. Raytown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
