Softball Recap: Sumrall Victorious

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sumrall walked away with it. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the East Central Hornets on Monday. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Emma Pope spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mallory Pope, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ella Robertson, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Sumrall's record is now 31-5. As for East Central, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 28-6.

As of now, neither Sumrall nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
