Baseball Recap: Benicia Extends Winning Streak to Four

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Benicia). They blew past the De Anza Dons 12-1 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Dominic Louro looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Benicia let Nash Rubins and Jackson Habegger run wild. Rubins scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2, while Habegger scored two runs while going 1-for-1. Those three stolen bases gave Rubins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brice Brunson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Benicia's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for De Anza, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Looking ahead, Benicia will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against El Cerrito at 4:00 p.m. The last six games El Cerrito has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for De Anza, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Tamalpais on the 29th.
