East Ascension entered their tilt with Live Oak on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Live Oak Eagles, sneaking past 48-46. The 48-point effort marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

East Ascension pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Live Oak, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

East Ascension is taking a road trip to square off against Prairieville on Friday. As for Live Oak, they will challenge Denham Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Denham Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 contests -- so hopefully Live Oak likes a good challenge.
